Malaai’s sustainability efforts stem from straightforward descriptions on our product labels and the benefit of each ingredient. We use 100% recyclable glass bottles with UV packaging and offer products that respect humans and the environment.
The inspiration for naming the brand ‘Malaai’ and the pattern in the logo comes from our mother’s name ‘Malti’, a beautiful and fragrant jasmine flower. The practice of naming girls after flowers have been popular for centuries and embraced by parents globally, who believe, “a flower does not use words to announce its arrival to the world; it just blooms.” And that’s how our mother got her name, Malti, the timeless jasmine flower.
There are over 200 classified varieties of jasmine and the mention of jasmine or malti, in Indian literature dates back to 4000 years. In India jasmine, malti, mogra, malli, jatimalli, are the common names for a few varieties of jasmine. Many iconic perfumes are built on a foundation of delicate jasmine notes. With a sincere interest in sustainability, our design extends to every aspect of Malaai’s workings.
Skincare & Wellness
The break in the need for everyday makeup in 2021 & 2022 allowed people to revise their skincare regime and see themselves in a new light. We still see face masks in 2023.
Our range of luxurious clean skin-care products are PETA certified-vegan and cruelty-free. They come in glass bottles with UV Protective Packaging, and beautiful droppers, a must have for those who want to embrace and fortify their natural skin. Our vegan oils are completely waterless and made with the highest-quality food-grade seeds.
We believe in transparency and clearly list all the ingredients on labels. We also refrain from overstating the naturalness in any of the labels. All information on the outcome of the products and ingredients reflect on the label.
Our relationship with our skin shouldn’t feel like a chore. We encourage you to use products, with lots of mindfulness practices and continue to view your skincare routine in a more cerebral way. We wish that all of us slow down, just for a bit and take the time to make educated purchasing decisions. As a company, we are working towards products that ensure minimum impact on Earth.
